Canadian Startups | Web Reach Transcript

The Story
I was asking myself: What is the most visited Start-up in Canada? And which one is the most active in the social media sphere? By playing with the data and being curious about the findings, I ended up having a long sheet with 100 Canadian Startups. I wanted to create some insight with this data.

Why the word “transcript”: I don’t like the word index or ranking. A company exists to create value for shareholders and customers. Having a big reach on the Web doesn’t equal a guarantee business success. That’s why I called this project the “Web Reach Transcript” or the WRT Score.

According to Wikipedia, “In education, a transcript is an inventory of the courses taken and grades earned of a student throughout a course”. The using of the word transcript seems to me more relevant than index or ranking.

Methodology
By combining 6 sources of different KPIs and by applying a different weight to each of those scores, I came come up with the WRT Score.
